How to fix GPU acceleration problem in adobe premiere pro

I will give solutions for both dedicated and integrated graphic card users.
If you are a NVIDIA or AMD graphics card user then follow the first 7 steps.
Intel Graphics users should scroll down to the end of the first 7 steps from there you will start your troubleshooting.


NVIDiA and AMD users:

Step 1: Check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements for GPU acceleration

Before setting up GPU acceleration, it's important to ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Adobe Premiere Pro requires a compatible GPU and a minimum of 2GB VRAM for GPU acceleration. You can check the system requirements on Adobe's website.

Step 2: Check if your GPU is compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro

Step 2: Update Graphics Card Driver

Connect your pc to an internet connection > Open driver booster > Click on scan. From there the software will scan all outdated drivers on your pc even those that the device manager cannot detect.

Now,  scroll through the outdated drivers then download and update graphics and CPU drivers. This tool can detect new versions of your graphics processor when device manager is unable to detect them. If all drivers are up to date and still do not solve the problem then try the next step.

Step 5: Right-click on your desktop > Display settings > Graphics > Browse: go to the go to desktop and select adobe premiere icon or go to the installation directory and select it. Now Click on the app on the icon that you just selected and select “ high performance” then click save then go to desktop and run the program as administrator.

Step 6: Update Premiere Pro

Make sure that you have the latest version of Premiere Pro installed. Adobe frequently releases updates that include bug fixes and performance improvements.

Step 7: Check System Compatibility

Lastly, check that your computer meets all the system requirements for Premiere Pro. If your computer is not powerful enough to support GPU acceleration, it may not recognize your graphics card.
